I am busy working on When Light Comes Unexpected the fourth book of the Misty Creek Series. There remains months of work until that project reaches completion. That said, I believe that a 2025 release date is possible. Stay tuned for progress reports.

Things are moving along on the printing of the third book of the Misty Creek Series. I gave final approval to the interior layout this morning. That’s a giant step. Now with both the cover and interior approved my publisher can get busy putting the two together.

Do you like the cover of With the Sun’s Rising, the third book of the Misty Creek Series? I think it looks great.
The book is at the publisher and things will move quickly. That being said I will give you when you can preorder you own copy. Release date has yet to be set, so stay tuned.

Now for an update on the last day of April.
I am presently going through a final sweep of the second Editorial Revise. I began tis revise in February with an expected time frame of four to six months. But it has gone much smother than expected. Looking over the changes made is an important step but one that demands less time than the hours of changes made over the last year. I have reached p. 442 in this process so I have just a bit over 200 pages to go. It sounds like a lot, but this is a quick sweep and 50 pages a day is the norm not the exception.
Soon the manuscript will go to a proofreader. When it comes back we will be REAL close.

The work is going quicker than I anticipated. Today I should reach page 500 of this last revision. I expect to finish this phase in the next two or three weeks. I will begin seeking a proofreader for the last step before I approach my publisher, Palmetto Publishing with the finished project. As you can tell my excitement is building…is yours?

Friends I am busy at work on the final leg of preparing With the Sun’s Rising the third book of the Misty Creek series. Though I find revising tedious I understand that it is a vital task in completing the book. I am working on the final Editorial Revise each day. It will take time but the finish line is in view, though it is a strain to see it. I’ll keep you informed right here, so check in from time to time.

During those weeks when I am waiting for whatever and I cannot work on the project that has taken the bulk of two and half years of my writing life, I write other things. I believe a writer needs to write. So on December 28th I began a bran new project. I am beginning the fourth book of the series, tentatively titled, “When Light Comes Unexpected”.
Though my readers will find parts of the story’s style familiar, it will be the first of the series that uses more than one persons’ point of view.
I now have 15 chapters of the draft completed, 127 pages, and 31,000 or so words,

Just thought I would give you all an update. The Beta copies are beginning to come home. So far the comments have been very positive. Soon the manuscript goes to my editor. Next month, when it comes back from my editor, I will know more about how much work remains.

It seems our little friend Howard is stunned that the BETA copies of With the Sun’s Rising have been printed and ready to go out.
Seriously. Having the BETA copies printed is an important milestone in the process. Sometimes it has felt an up hill struggle to reach this point, but seeing the words on the page help…it really helps to remind me of the work completed and that the goal of publishing this book is not some impossible task.
Yes, there is a great deal of work ahead, but less I think than the hours and blood I have already poured into this project.
It is my hope that the readers of these pages find that Elizabeth’s story continues in a way they want to share with the characters of a small town called Misty Creek…

The fans of MISTY CREEK and Elizabeth’s Journey will be pleased that a third book of the series is in progress. With the Sun’s Rising, the next chapter of Elizabeth’s life is, shall we say, under construction. The draft is complete and I have nearly finished the first editorial revise. Though there is much work to be done, With the Sun’s Rising is taking shape.
I ask for your patience, for time will be needed to craft this story into one, I hope you will come to love as well.
